Ave Parfum's List of Perfumes That Smells Like Cosmetics
So many perfume lovers out there love a scent that reminds them of powder compacts, waxy lipsticks, and makeup bags. Myself included. Since I have been sampling so many of those types of perfumes, I figured I'd create a list for those who might be seeking similar scents.
The notes that are frequently found in perfumes of this sort are rose, violet, iris, creamy notes such as vanilla, and often a fruity note such as raspberry.

In no particular order:
Misia by Chanel - Violette pastilles and waxy lipstick mixed with a realistic lychee note
Lipstick On by Maison Martin Margiella - Raspberry hard candy mixed with violet pastilles and powdery makeup. Sweet, creamy vanillic drydown.
Poudre d'Orient by Le Labo - Discontinued but you can possibly find online somewhere. Powdery violet mixed with a creamy, balsamic base. Moderately sweet.
Lipstick Rose by Frederick Maille -
Rive Gauche by Yves Saint Laurent - The most current formulation is a powder keg with waxy lipstick. Not particularly sweet.
Violette Sacree by Au Pays de la Fleur d'Oranger - Violet & rose pastilles on a base of sweet, creamy, and slightly smoked woods. Not sweet.
Burlesque by Maria Candida Gentile - Rose and violet on a waxy, balsamic base with a touch of incense. Moderately sweet.
Moulin Rouge by Histoires de Parfums - Dusty, powdery, waxy cosmetics. Iris and rose with trace amounts of spice. Very complex. Truly has that waxy scent and the scent of vintage compacts, more realistic than I think I have ever smelled.
