VIOLETTE SACREE
Violette Sacree is an incredibly beautiful and tranquil scent. It is only slightly powdery. When it first hits my skin it smells nutty and creamy, which is wonderful! Reminds me of Bois Farine in its opening stages as well. Then I smell violet pastilles, when you first open the tin, mixed with creamy and softly smoky woods. It is not sweet like candy. It's like being at a spa where the air is scented with violets. I love the other floral notes, which provide a slight freshness as well as subtle complexity, so it's not just violet and woods, but something more elegant. It does kind of invoke thoughts of makeup bags and creamy lipstick, but the woodiness adds a soothing element. Tranquilité is the word that keeps coming to mind. Such a lovely, demure, comforting scent. A nice departure from my balsamic/sweet iris perfumes, but in the same vein. Highly recommended! (Apr. 2016)
