PALO SANTO
I love palo santo (palo santo is not agarwood). I burn the wood regularly, and I also have the essential oil. This is an artistic interpretation, a beautiful one, that plays on the creamy facet of the scent of the actual wood. Palo Santo is definitely not a palo santo "soliflore", so one must try and get past the name and not expect something so simple.
Right off the bat it smells like the booziest bourbon vanilla poured into scalded milk. The effect is a bit like a milder, creamier version of a buttered popcorn Jelly Belly. Quite sweet, actually. Condensed milk also comes to mind. The lovely woods are in the background, and altogether this is the milkiest, creamiest perfume I have ever encountered.
Sillage is great, and the milk note is so pronounced, which is not the norm (in my experience) with perfumes claiming to contain a milk note.
Highly recommended for those who love creamy sandalwood, but be prepared for the fact that this is fairly gourmand. I am not sure if that was the intention of the nose for it to be so, but I get more mental images of food than I do of woods.

RIMA XI
Rima XI is a cardamom-dominant sweet perfume. I cook with cardamom and make an authentic masala chai (an awesome recipe I got from a local Indian restaurant). Green cardamom has a sweet, creamy, citrusy quality about it that kind of reminds me of Fruity Pebbles. Cardamom is a spice, but it is sweet, not hot.
Other than a hint of fresh green herbs in the top notes that is used extremely sparingly, I also smell vanilla or maybe benzoin in the base.
Rima XI is unlike anything else I have ever smelled. The issue I have with it is that it seems like it is lacking something. I don't know what, exactly, but I view this kind of like I view Byredo's Gypsy Water. It's too thin, and while the concept is promising, the execution is lacking imho.
So...I don't know...if a thin, super sweet cardamom perfume sounds like more of your thing than mine, give it a whirl. The cardamom is handled very beautifully here. While I don't necessarily want to wear it, it is a nice tribute to those little green pods.
